The Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has launched an anti-corruption project in five small Albanian towns to promote principles of sound governance. The head of the OSCE mission in Albania, Ambassador Robert Bosch, and Mayor Xhelal Mziu of Kamza, a town just outside Tirana, signed an agreement on December 15, marking the start of the scheme, the European institution (www.osce.org/albania) said in a statement. The project, which aims to strengthen the role of the civil society in the battle against corruption in local government, is co-funded by the European Union and Dutch embassy in Albania.
