EU to help Albania on its fight against financial crime with a Euro 1.5 million project under IPA 2009

The European Union will help Albania on its fight against financial crime with a Euro 1.5 million project under IPA 2009, which will go to the strengthening of Albania’s law enforcement structures. The project was presented on Thursday by the Head of the EU delegation to Tirana Ettore Sequi, while the ceremony was attended by Albania’s General Prosecutor Ina Rama and Albania’s Minister of Finance Ridvan Bode together with the Minister of the Interior Bujar Nishani, Tv Klan reports.

Sequi declared that laws alone were not enough to tackle corruption and money laundering and called for a strengthening of coordination between institutions.
