Albanians pay an average of 43 Euros in bribes each year in exchange for public services, according to a survey of Albania's Institute of Statistics and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. According to the survey, 19.3% of Albanian citizens pay bribes, while the most corrupted sector is the health sector, which accounts for 70% of the bribes.
Corruption in Albania is more widespread in rural areas than urban centers, while females are more prone to pay bribes than Albanian males.
